The New Zealand Police approached us to create a social media video for their Family Violence 2015 Christmas campaign. Although Christmas is a time of celebration for some, it is also a time when domestic violence statistics peak. The NZ Police wanted to reach out through social media to offer a message of hope and a call out for people to seek help – aimed at both the victims and perpetrators.
We collaborated with Tina Cross and the It’s Not OK initiative to film a music video for Tina’s song Walk Away. The song was re-recorded with the Counties Manukau District Commander’s Police Choir and the video included interviews with It’s Not OK advocates Vic Tamati and Jude Simpson.
The video was hugely successful on social media, garnering 4,471 shares and 251,012 views on Facebook.
